Kenya wildlife and Uganda gorilla Safari Itinerary


Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi – Transfer to Masai Mara National Reserve

Upon arrival in Nairobi, you will be met by our safari guide and depart for the world-famous Masai Mara Game Reserve. Enjoy scenic views of the Great Rift Valley during your drive. A stop for lunch is included en route. In the afternoon, you’ll arrive in time for your first thrilling game drive across the savannah plains.

Highlight: First wildlife encounters and sunset game viewing in Masai Mara.

Day 2: Full-Day Safari in Masai Mara

Accommodation: Masai Mara Sopa Lodge or similar

Included Activity: Full-Day Game Drive

Spend a full day exploring Masai Mara, renowned for its exceptional wildlife. Drive through vast savannahs and rolling hills, spotting lions, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, and if lucky, leopards. Break for a picnic lunch by the hippo pool, keeping an eye out for hippos and crocodiles.

Highlight: Exceptional wildlife photography opportunities and possible Big Five sightings.

Day 3: Masai Mara – Drive to Lake Nakuru National Park

Day 4: Lake Nakuru – Drive to Uganda (Tororo)

After breakfast, begin your journey across the border into Uganda, also known as the “Pearl of Africa.” Pass through scenic landscapes including the Menengai Crater region. Upon arrival in Tororo, enjoy an evening hike to stretch your legs after the journey.

Day 5: Tororo – Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary – Transfer to Jinja

Included Activity: Rhino Trekking and Canoeing

Depart early for the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, Uganda’s only home to wild rhinos. Enjoy a guided walk to view these majestic creatures up close. After lunch, continue to Jinja, located at the source of the River Nile. Spend the evening relaxing by the Nile.

Day 6: Jinja – Drive to Kibale Forest National Park

Day 9: Game Drive & Kazinga Channel Boat Safari

Day 10: Queen Elizabeth – Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Day 11: Gorilla Trekking Experience – Bwindi

Day 12: Bwindi – Transfer to Kigali (Departure)

After breakfast, enjoy a scenic transfer to Kigali, Rwanda for your departure flight. If time allows, you may opt for a short city tour or visit a genocide memorial before heading to the airport.
