Safari Highlights:
Begin your unforgettable 3-day Uganda Gorilla Trekking Safari with either a scenic road transfer or a short domestic flight to the southwestern region of Uganda.
If you choose the road transfer, enjoy a scenic 9-hour drive through Uganda’s picturesque countryside, passing vibrant towns and lush landscapes. A key highlight along the way is a stop at the Uganda Equator Monument, where you can stretch your legs, take memorable photos, visit local craft shops, and enjoy lunch. After this refreshing break, continue the drive to either Bwindi Impenetrable National Park or Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, your destination for the gorilla adventure.
Alternatively, opt for a scheduled domestic flight (approx. 1 hour and 50 minutes) for a quicker and more comfortable journey to the park.
Included Meals: Lunch & Dinner
Accommodation: Overnight stay at a selected lodge near the park
Wake up early for the highlight of your safari — the Gorilla Trekking experience. After breakfast, your guide will take you to the park headquarters for a mandatory pre-trek briefing led by a Uganda Wildlife Authority ranger. During this session, you will learn about gorilla behavior, conservation efforts, and trekking guidelines. You will then be assigned to a specific gorilla family group.
The actual trekking experience can last anywhere from 2 to 6 hours, depending on the location of the gorillas. The terrain can be steep and slippery, so it is recommended to hire a local porter to assist with carrying your backpack and providing support on the trail.
Once you locate the gorilla family, you will be allowed one unforgettable hour in their presence — observing, photographing, and experiencing these majestic creatures in their natural habitat.
Included Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Accommodation: Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight rest
After breakfast, begin your return journey to Entebbe International Airport. If you traveled by road, enjoy another scenic 8-hour drive back with a lunch stop at the Equator Monument. If you prefer a quicker option, a scheduled domestic flight is also available.
This marks the end of your incredible Uganda Gorilla Trekking Safari. You’ll return home with lasting memories and photographs of one of Africa’s most iconic wildlife encounters.
